A Wild Weekend at Watkins Glen
The team rolled out three different car makes for 6 hours of Watkins Glen on August 4th, 2017. 6 hours of multi-class racing on at Watkins Glen usually serves the team well with many drivers being very familiar with the track. The three Corvette C7 Daytona Prototypes, the Ford GT and the new Ferrari 488 GTE we all entered by team drivers. The only podium finish of the weekend went to the #005 Ford GT of Mark Shindel and Shad Curren in the GTE class. They were on rails all race long. The #001 Ferrari of Greg Benardo and Ken Soszka also scored a top ten finish bringing home this new car in 9th. In the C7 DP class Tom Newman-Morris and Carlos Plaza in the #004 Corvette finished 4th in a very, very strong top split that day.
The 3rd race of the weekend showcased the #008 “The Ocho” of Milt Minter Jr, Jerry Foerhkolb and Jim Ray. Their C7 Corvette DP ran clean for a 6th place finish in class. In the 8th finishing position in class was Larry Krupp and JF Godin in the #002. This was a very fun event with many drivers getting involved in three different cars over the weekend.
